Here's a compilation of some of the music that caught my attention since the last time I did one of these things.

The links to the songs are in the headings.

Big Screen - JonnytheFirth

What better place to start this time around than with JonnytheFirth. I've seen a lot of his live act over the last couple of months and there's a raw excitement about it.

This clip is rather infamous. I won't give the game away but just to warn you damage is done to inanimate objects and there is a bit of swearing too.

In the Dark - Lucy Perry

Lucy's a young singer-songwriter from the Wakefield area.

I'd recommend catching her live. She combines emotional love songs with a certain dark sense of humor.

Quick Fix - The Do's

A dynamic duo from Wakefield. The singer sounds a bit too much like the guy out of Placebo - other than that they are good.

Try Never Knowing - March of Dimes

Apparently March of Dimes are no more. So in their memory here's an acoustic video.

Keep an eye out for Jon Moss performing solo around Leeds. He's the main songwriter in the band.

Fall For Me - Rosie Doonan

Rosie Doonan has a new album out shortly. This is an oldish song though.

Reptilia - The Encounters

Here's the best thing I could find for the Encounters on youTube. Its actually not a bad version (of a Strokes song) or performance.

Where Only The Graves are Real- Otis Gibbs

Otis Gibbs has a scary beard but if you look past that his music is pretty good.

This is an enjoyable video as Otis walks through Manchester streets playing.

Youth - Daughter

Here's an act that was recommended to me by Max Mcnally (a full six months before the NME started talking about them).

Ok they are a bit over dramatic and over wrought but they are young. Anyway I really like it.
